The Proposition (The Proposition #1) by Katie Ashley

The Proposition (The Proposition #1) by Katie Ashley

This is an adult contemporary romance (Rated NC-17)

 ♥♥♥♥1/2
(Four and a half Man Up Hearts)

Book Summary

With her thirtieth birthday looming, Emma Harrison finds her biological clock clanging and the elusive knight in shining armor yet to appear. She’s running out of options, especially after her gay best friend backs out from being her sperm donor. Of course, there’s always a sperm bank, but Emma fears a donor mix-up might impregnate her with the spawn of Satan.

Resident company womanizer, Aidan Fitzgerald, is used to always getting what he wants, especially in the bedroom. When Emma spurns his advances at the company Christmas party, he's determined to have her no matter what it takes. After Aidan learns of Emma's predicament, he is quick to offer a proposition that will benefit them both. He will father Emma's child, but she must conceive it with him naturally. Not one for hook-ups or casual sex, Emma is reluctant to take him up on his offer, but his charm, coupled with her intense desire for motherhood, wins out.

Soon their baby-making sessions become more than just physical. Aidan can't seem to walk away from her while Emma begins to wonder if Aidan could be the one. But can Aidan leave his past behind to become the man Emma needs him to be?

My Review

I’ll be honest and say the first bit of the story I wanted to slap Emma for being stupid. Thank goodness the author didn’t leave her like that. She had a support system of friends that gave her the hard truth and that took some of the sting out of watching her make a fool of herself.
Luckily, all that ended early and Emma starting acting smarter. Aidan on the other hand surprised me and I won’t say how for fear of spoilers.
Overall, the book snagged me by my heels and wouldn’t let go. Because of a minor cliffy, I’m moving on to book two right away. Thank goodness it’s out and I think it’s the end to this couples story. So you don’t have to wait on reading this one.
Audio Review
Justine O. Keef is a pro and I’ve listened to her before. She doesn’t disappoint.
My book boyfriend is Aidan.

Talk about a wild ride and a total mind F@%k! ~ Insurmountable by T.E. White

Looking for a HOT and Sexy read that will blow your mind and question your sanity, check out

in•sur•mount•a•ble

a New Adult novel by T.E. White

first in a standalone series "Sins of the Father",
Insurmountable will be a total mind fuck.

Told in the POV of Tade Astor, check out the blurb for his side of this twisted tale.

This isn’t some happy love story. If you want that, try something else. No, I own this nightmare and would have never guessed it could have happened to me.

My life is painstakingly puzzled out. And if I have to admit it, I fall for Red the first time I see her. In fact, she is the first of many things for me and maybe my last. She is the reflection of my happiness and the beginning to my end. She is the stain that covers my heart in the color of her blood-red hair.

Thoughts of her consume me and continue to bombard my mind like ricochet gunfire. So what can possibly go wrong, you wonder? A humorous chuckle escapes me, in case you didn’t hear it. Yeah, I can tell you, but you will judge me unfairly. This you need to hear from the beginning, so you know all the facts and feel what I felt. Maybe even sympathize and not give me your scorn. Then maybe you can possibly… possibly comprehend the enormity of my crossroads.

You have to know I never planned or meant for any of this. It isn’t my fault. It’s someone else’s sins that have efficiently destroyed my life in one fell swoop. My name?

My name is Tade Astor and happiness for me is insurmountable.

*Warning – this book contains explicit sexual situations and may not be suited for everyone.

Poison Promise (Elemental Assassin #11) by Jennifer Estep

Poison Promise (Elemental Assassin #11) by Jennifer Estep

This is an adult urban fantasy novel (Rated NC-17)

 ♥♥♥♥
 (Four Poison Hearts)

Book Summary

Gin Blanco is hard-nosed, sexy, and lethal. Nicknamed “The Spider,” she’s a stone elemental assassin who brings her unique mix of magic and tact to every assignment, no matter the target.

There’s a new drug on the streets of Ashland, and its name “Burn” sums up the potent effect it has on its users. When one of her restaurant employees is threatened by dealers of the drug, Gin steps in to set things straight...

My Review

As much as I love Gin, I was annoyed and tired of the storyline which seems to repeat itself almost. Owen for a lot of the book is in the background. And while I know that UF is not romance guided, it feels much like an afterthought.
However, on that note, the time we did get with Owen, the author really stepped up her sexy game. I almost blushed at the scenes (and we all know I read far racier stuff. Let’s just call it a surprise.)
And in this book I wanted to shove my foot up Brea’s assss. She annoyed me so. But I love some Finnagin and face it, I’m into Owen’s BFF too. His name just left my brain….
Anyway, it was still an interesting read and we get some solid answers. A few of them shocked me, surprise, surprise.
Audio Review
Lauren Fortgang is just simply splendid as Gin. She also does excellent job of keeping all the other main characters unique.
My book boyfriend Owen.

The Donor (Part 1) by Nikki Rae

The Donor (Part 1) by Nikki Rae

This is an new adult romance series novella (Rated R)

♥♥♥♥1/2
(Four and a half Donated Hearts)

Book Summary

[Disclaimer: This is a serial novella that will be told in parts about the length of a short story (20-30 pages)]

Casey Williams and her family are poor. Her parents work non-stop and so does she, just so they can keep the trailer roof from leaking.

They’re getting by fine enough when the headaches start. Then there’s the nosebleeds. And the inevitable doctor’s bills.

Fortunately for Casey, there’s MyTrueMatch.com: an exclusive, quick, and almost easy way to pay it all back before her parents even have to know.

All she has to do is give a man she’s never met whatever he wants from her body.

Inside or out.

My Review

This story has me eager to read more. I wasn’t sure what was going to happen and the way it’s told there is somewhat of a surprise towards the end.
As far as characters, Casey feels na├»ve but also in command of what’s she’s doing. She has nothing more to loose and everything to gain. I can’t blame her for her choices.
Jonah is an intriguing mysterious character, with all the cards in his hand, he could easily take advantage. I’m not going to tell you if he does or not. You have to read to find out.
I have it on good authority, we won’t have to wait long for the next part. So don’t wait to read.
My book boyfriend Jonah.

Beautiful Stranger (Beautiful Bastard #2) by Christina Lauren

Beautiful Stranger (Beautiful Bastard #2) by Christina Lauren

This is an adult contemporary romance/erotica (Rated NC-17)

♥♥♥
 (Five Max Hearts)

Book Summary

Escaping a cheating ex, finance whiz Sara Dillon’s moved to New York City and is looking for excitement and passion without a lot of strings attached. So meeting the irresistible, sexy Brit at a dance club should have meant nothing more than a night’s fun. But the manner—and speed—with which he melts her inhibitions turns him from a one-time hookup and into her Beautiful Stranger.

The whole city knows that Max Stella loves women, not that he’s ever found one he particularly wants to keep around. Despite pulling in plenty with his Wall Street bad boy charm, it’s not until Sara—and the wild photos she lets him take of her—that he starts wondering if there’s someone for him outside of the bedroom.

Hooking up in places where anybody could catch them, the only thing scarier for Sara than getting caught in public is having Max get too close in private.

My Review

First let me have a fan girl moment. Lauren of the Christina Lauren touched my necklace at the Welcome Party for the Scotland signing event. She was intrigued by it. Okay, fan girling. And okay, I bought her book at the signing and got her to sign it. YAY!!!

But that in no way influenced my rating. I know I always keep it honest here.

And honestly, I loved this book. While I really liked the first book, I loved this one. Which is why I bought this one to have her sign and not the first.

As far as the characters go, there were times the character Sara annoyed me, but I appreciated her candor and going for what she wanted. What I liked more was that Max wasn’t your typical playboy. While we were told he was a womanizer, we never really saw much of that side of him and I liked that a lot. And, I loved that he was vulnerable without being an ass.

And MILD SPOILER

I loved that he didn’t chase her when she thought the worst of him.

END OF SPOILER

Overall, I really enjoyed the power struggle between the two. That made it a really it fun read. So you should totally check this book out. While it is in a series, it can be read as a standalone.

Audio Review

Grace Grant and Jonathan R. Cole narrated. I preferred Grace’s narration over Jonathan’s. He wasn’t bad but he forgot to do the American accents.
