This is an adult paranormal romance novel (Rated NC-17)
♥♥♥1/2
(Three and a Half Skye Hearts)
Book Summary
In this highly anticipated fifteenth novel in the Immortals After Dark series, #1 New York Times bestselling author Kresley Cole spins a sultry tale of a mighty warrior scarred inside and out and the beguiling sorceress with the power to heal him—or vanquish him forever.

ETERNAL OBSESSION

As a boy, Thronos, prince of Skye Hall, loved Lanthe, a mischievous Sorceri girl who made him question everything about his Vrekener clan. But when the two got caught in the middle of their families’ war, tragedy struck, leaving Thronos and Lanthe bitter enemies. Though centuries have passed, nothing can cool his seething need for the beautiful enchantress who scarred his body—and left an even deeper impression on his soul.

ENDLESS YEARNING

Lanthe, a once-formidable sorceress struggling to reclaim her gifts, searches for love and acceptance with all the wrong immortal suitors. But she’s never forgotten Thronos, the magnificent silver-eyed boy who protected her until she was ripped from the shelter of his arms. One harrowing night changed everything between them. Now he’s a notorious warlord with a blood vendetta against Lanthe, hunting her relentlessly.

CAN THE HEAT OF DESIRE BURN BRIGHTER THAN VENGEANCE?

With their families locked in conflict and battles raging all around them, will Thronos and Lanthe succumb to the brutal chaos that threatens everything they cherish? Or will the fragile bond they formed so long ago spark a passion strong enough to withstand even the darkest doubts?
My Review
As this series continues, I find myself falling in and out of love of book boyfriends but storyline too. Sometimes they feel like a repeat. And theme of virgins gets tiring over time. However, KC knows how to write a book. And a 3.5 heart book for her, would be a five heart book for others. So, not judging ratings against other books, just in relation to her own, have I given this book 3.5 hearts.
What I loved about the book was the adventure. Some of my favorite books in this series revolved around Indiana Jones like adventures. My favorite of all the guys next to the demon vamp, is my werewolf early in the series. I can’t remember his name at the moment. But anyway, they were in a jungle.
What I didn’t like about the book was the use of interruptions to stop intimacy in the story. This is a pet peeve of mine and may not bother others. I give an author one pass and if that author does it more in the story, that’s a total turn off for me. Thus the rating decrease.
But that wasn’t the only thing that bothered me. But the only one that impacted my rating. The other thing I hated was Lanthi and how she allowed others to destroy something. (no spoilers) And frankly her own actions. But can’t love them all.
All in all, it was a good read and I have no regrets.

My Review

The story was okay. I think Will MacRieve despite his past was a little of the top. He was too much of an asshole considering everything. If I’d been her, I wouldn’t have ever forgiven him.
I like my guys broken and Will was definitely broken, but he put me off. The story felt like a repeat of Lotharie’s story in ways. And something was just missing.
Maybe it’s time for this series to end. It just feels like a hash of previous stories with each character. It’s missing the magic when the valkerye were at the center of the story arc/plot.

My Review

This book started out kind of interesting. I was curious how the story would resolve itself. But the last part of the story felt fillerish. It's like it didn't totally have to happen. Then again maybe it did.

When the author took her YA series second book into erotica area, I was oddly taken back that the sex in this story was more foreplay. When they were finally able to have sex, it was glossed over. And we got one sex scene overall. All those other teasers before I was looking for one last her rah. Then it's like we're together - the end.

Lothaire is a pretty epic character and this book didn’t do him justice.

My book boyfriend Lothaire.

My Review

This story reminds me why I read Kresley Cole books. This story had everything I’d been waiting for. For me it’s about a tortured soul. That’s why Vishous from the Black Dagger Brotherhood is my absolute favorite. I haven’t forgotten about Zdadist. But all the misunderstanding for conflict in that story made it hard to enjoy.

I digress. Let’s get back to the Immortals After Dark.

Betrayal usually pisses me off but let’s just say, I would have done the same given the circumstances. This story was so heartfelt and even though I was assured of a HEA, I couldn’t help but wonder how it would all play out.

Having read the rest of the books that are out in this series, I know this book sets up so much more to come in future books.

All I will say is that this is my favorite book in the series after Bowen. Malkom one of the top guys.

That lead to a pleasure so wicked...

My Review

This story had the whole adventure tied with some serious sexual angst. Had it not felt like Dani’s story, I may have loved it instead of liking it a whole lot.
Two, the whole “They” can't have sex thing is beginning to wear on my nerves because it’s happening in every story.
Lucia annoyed me MINOR SPOILER thinking it was more important to have the archer ability than to give into love. And I'm glad Garreth called her on it. Got to love the Scottish pack. Sexy as all get out. END OF SPOILER.
Still at the end of the day it was an interesting story with different twist. And more importantly, Kresley Cole has a way of telling a story combined with awesome narration that it had to put down.

Untouchable (Immortals After Dark #8) by Kresley Cole

This is an adult paranormal romance novel (Rated NC-17)

(Four Icy Hearts)

Book Summary

#1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLING AUTHOR KRESLEY COLE delivers a breathtaking tale of a brutal vampire soldier about to know love for the first time... and a Valkyrie aching for his touch.

Murdoch Wroth will stop at nothing to claim Daniela - the delicate Valkyrie who makes his heart beat for the first time in three hundred years. Yet the exquisite Danii is part ice fey, and her freezing skin can't be touched by anyone but her own kind without inflicting pain beyond measure. Can they conquer an agony of frustration and slake the overwhelming desire burning between them?

My Review

First I only read (listened) to the book that Kresley Cole wrote. Don’t let the cover deceive you. I think in paperback there were two books together. In audio, it’s separate reads.
I’m growing tired of this series and the formula that is in every book. Early on they felt more unique. Now it feels like the same. Immortal untouchable female virgin meets sexy bad boy immortal guy whose never been faithful to one female until now. She struggles with her alpha nature to submit to his will. He realizes she’s the only female that can tame him. They get close to having sex in the first few chapters but wait until sometime after the first half of the book for the deed to be done. And in the meantime they have a quest to fulfill that will bring them together as a couple. Sound about right?
Yeah, well, this book had an interesting twist. I liked the ice queen aspect of why they couldn’t touch. And had I not read this formulaic story several times in a row, I might have enjoyed it more. But repeats start to wane on me.
Thank goodness for Robert’s narration. I think he saved this one for me. He brings the story to life and draws me in more than the story itself.
Audio Review
Robert Petkoff knocks it out the park again with his spot on narration.
Still what can I say. I’m a glutton for punishment. I continue to read the rest of the series. That says something about her writing. It may get formulaic, but it’s far more enjoyable that other books.
My book boyfriend Murdoch.
