Tenderhearted Southern girl Anna Whitt was born with the sixth sense to see and feel emotions of other people. She's aware of a struggle within herself, an inexplicable pull toward danger, but Anna, the ultimate good girl, has always had the advantage of her angel side to balance the darkness within. It isn't until she turns sixteen and meets the alluring Kaidan Rowe that she discovers her terrifying heritage and her willpower is put to the test. He's the boy your daddy warned you about. If only someone had warned Anna.

Forced to face her destiny, will Anna embrace her halo or her horns?

INTERVIEW with Wendy Higgins.

Thanks for taking the time to be with us today.

1. What was your inspiration for the story?

~ I wasn’t inspired by any one particular thing—I was inspired by many things: relationships I’ve had, books I’ve read, my friendships, my heartbreaks, my spirituality...just everything.

2. If the second book is not picked up, are you able to release it?

"indie style" or are you under contract not to? What can your fans do to help?

~ If my publisher rejects book two then I can pursue other publishing options. We’re hoping to have news very soon. In the meantime, the best thing we can do is spread the word. Publishers are businesses, and while they love books, their goal is to make money. So the sales numbers count.

3. Will you be releasing any books in the near future 2012/2013?

~ I don’t know...if SWEET HOPE is picked up, it’ll probably be a 2013 release, maybe even 2014 depending on their publishing schedule. I’m not likely to release any books before that.

4. What is your next project?

~ I need to get my Irish book revised and sent to my agent to see if she likes it. It’s called SEE ME—magical people, Faeries...Leprechauns. Fun, fun!

5. What is the one thing you want people to know about you?

~ Probably that I’m not taking any of this wild ride for granted. I feel very blessed and humbled.

My Review

I found myself on the beach reaching for this book time and time again. Even though the set of this book is unbelievable, I still was drawn to it. But I will get to that later.

The world building of this story was really good. It was a unique twist on an old tale and certainly added to the allure to continue reading.

The characters were pretty solid and it was hard not to fall for Kaiden even for the beginning. The storyline was very interesting and again kept me turning the pages even when I had other things to do.

My only real problem was SPOILER ALERT. I just didn’t see the believability of the means of transportation to an early destination in the story. With financial means, why not choose an easier and faster mode of transportation. And that the mom would agree to all of this???  Not to mention insta love which is an absolute no no in my book. END OF SPOILER.

Overall, I think either you will love it or hate it. So give it a try and find out for yourself. I, myself am very anxious to find out what comes next.

My Book Boyfriend is Kaiden.
