My Review

 

However unlikely this story is, the author does an amazing job at making it plausible. It was just amazing. It had every element a story in this genre needs to make me swoon.

She does a wonderful job at character creation. I love both Myra and Brian. And the band members all seem promising for their stories and I’m looking forward to reading more.  I love Brain’s vulnerability. I think that’s why I love him the most for the moment. Super hot guy with a heart slays me every time.

The sex scenes were great. My personal fav is the threesome. But I won’t say more. *sigh*

The conflict created annoyed me a tad. I just wanted everyone to be honest. The love straddled the line of insta love, but remained firmly on the not insta love. I believed in these characters and was driven to read the next book right away.

Audio Review

Justine O. Keef does an amazing job causing me to lose myself in the story and playing out the visuals in my head. It was a breath of fresh air. I look for more narration from her.

My Review

How time flies. I read this a month ago. So here is the deal. This author knows how to do paranormal romance. She’s created a cast of characters from book one that you start to feel invested in. Therefore, by the time their spotlight shines, you are ready, willing and waiting.

This book is no exception. I fell for Cadeon in a previous book and couldn’t wait for his tale. His girl isn’t the most exciting but the author created her with some quirks that bounced off our alpha male in a way that made things interesting.

This book has it all. Mystery, action, good steamy sex, well written characters, hilarity and storyline. Not to mention the fantastic one liners throughout.

I really enjoyed and wish we had more of a HEA than the final chapter we got.

Audio Review

Robert Petkoff is amazing narrator. He’s kept up the character’s individual voices throughout the series even though we change main POVs in each book. It’s fabulous.

My Review

From the moment the book started, I had high hopes. Of course, I didn’t get what I wanted. For a long while, I debated on continuing. Lately, I’ve had a real problem with love triangles. This is because authors are making it really hard to choose what guy to root for.

Alex of course was my front runner because he was introduced first. But then, typical, he was nowhere to be found in book two, leaving us with Julian, whom I didn’t want to like but found it hard not to. So what to do when everyone is brought together in the final book?

Without giving spoilers, I won’t say who I rooted for. Don’t read into my book boyfriend. Julian would have been that in the last book, so I chose Alex this time as I wasn’t blogging when the first book came out.

And I will also say I wasn’t a fan of the Hana POV. I just wasn’t interested in her life. But as the book progressed, it got better and by the end it all made sense.

Still, I was left wanting. The ending was not the best. I should know based on the author’s previous book how things would end. It reminds me of Shiver/Linger/Forever. Not quite as bad. In that series, we were left with a life and death question. Sorry authors, I don’t want to speculate if a character is going to live or die. Sorry. Opps, I hope that wasn’t a spoiler. Some didn’t mind it as much as I did. Still, here we are left with certain questions. I won’t tell you which ones. But they are a bit troublesome. When it ended, I waited for a second looking for an epilogue to answer those questions. Sorry.

Anyway, was it worth a read? Sure. Even with the ending.

Audio Review

Sarah Drew was just simply amazing. She really brought the story to life. I enjoyed her narration very much.

That said, here is my book boyfriend, Alex. (since he was cast in the part and isn't a bad choice, i'll go with Daren.)

OH, and since I went to the book signing for Lauren Oliver yesterday (release day), I do have a signed hard copy for a giveaway. But I don't have time tonight to set it up. Look for it in the next week.

My Review

Please note this review does contain SPOILERS.

First, let me say the opening was really cute. I’ve seen it before but I was drawn in.

Then things go wrong. First, if Alexa isn’t rich and lives next door/nearby Nick and he is rich; how does that work?  I don’t know maybe I missed something.

Then, she lives in the same area and is best friends with his sister, yet she hasn’t seen him in over 5 years. (Sorry, it’s been a while since I read this. Maybe it was like 10 yrs.) She didn’t attend any family gatherings at her best friend’s house??? Weird.

Then of course, she’s in financial trouble and hey, let’s do a love spell. And hey, my best friend’s brother happens to need a wife to get an inheritance. Okay, my best friend should be rich too. Why can’t I just borrow the money from her???

Then all the predictable things happen in the story. She’s hiding something. He thinks it’s something else. They have sex. She gets pregnant. He thinks she’s a gold-digger. Really!!!! She married you for your money. Isn’t that the point? And of course first comes marriage and then comes love.

But there was a hilarious moment when he calls the cops. I think that saved the story for me. I couldn’t stop laughing. Anyway, I wonder how this is a first book. I think their story is done.  I hope it is.

Not everybook is for everyone. This one didn't work for me but it might for you. Give it a shot.

My Review

For all of you haven’t read this series because the first book has a VA feel, get over it. I did. This series is seriously AWESOME. It has legs of its own and it is nothing like VA after the first book and a half. Well worth getting through that. REALLY GOOD!

After the cliffy of the previous book, I read Exlir. I think it’s very important but not impossible to read this one without reading the novella, but I think you might be missing out. Plus, I think it’s free on Spencer Hills website, so why not.

Oh, as I was saying, after that cliffy, I wasn’t sure how JLA was going to pull this one out and have it believable. Let’s just say she does and then some.

There could have been 70 more pages and I still wouldn’t have gotten enough. I’m seriously sad that the next book is the last. JLA, please, one more book????

My Review

 

Stunned by the ending of the last book, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on this one. 

What was the author going to do? Where was she going to take us? To tell you the truth, I was kind of surprised. I just didn’t imagine it as the series went along. But that is the great thing about a book when you can be surprised.

It’s really hard to review without giving spoilers away because this is the ending. Let’s just say that you won’t end up angry by the turn of events and the ride will be a rocky but enjoyable one along the way.

Carter and Eva’s romance is much like lace - delicate, eye catching, beautiful yet fragile, easily torn apart if they’re not careful, yet strong enough to hold together.  

It’s hard to have tension in the final book in the series and still have a HEA. But here you have it.
