Book Summary
Homicide detective Kara Gillian has a special talent: she can sense the "arcane" in our world, and there's quite a bit of it, even in Beaulac, Louisiana. She's also a summoner of demons, and works on a task force that deals with supernatural crimes. Her partners are attractive and smart FBI agents, but they're not summoners, and they're not telling Kara why they are on this special force with her.
To complicate things even more, Kara has pledged herself to one of the most powerful of demons—Demon Lord Rhyzkahl—who helped save her partner's life, but now expects things in return. Meanwhile, she's trying to solve a string of murders that are somehow tied together by money, sex, rock music and...mud. But how can she concentrate on the case when she's not even sure who—or what—her partners are? Secrets of the Demon is the exciting third installment of the Kara Gillian series.

My Review
I’ve got to tell you that even though I pegged the killer
early on in this one, once again, this author has a way of making me second
guess myself. And I think that’s one of the main reasons thus far I continue on
with this series.
The romance leaves much to be desired. I had to redouble my
spoiler search when at some point in this story it was suggested that there was
some not “cheating” per say, but back stabling. I think that’s the word I’m
looking for. It bothered me far too much that I sought out spoilers to decide
if I was DNF the book or not. I continued on reading, so there is your answer.
For those of you on the fence, I have read all the books (at
this point) that are currently published to date and the series gets far more
interesting. Is it because I read them back to back? No. I read the Jane
Yellowrock books back to back and I have no desire to continue.
So I say go for it.
