My Review

I really love this series and was looking forward to Rydstrom’s book. For such a regal man, I envisioned a great story. Instead, I got something that crossed even my morals.

THIS WILL HAVE SOME SPOILERS
So, I don’t agree with rape whether it’s done to a girl or a guy. And that’s what this book feels like to me. I had a DNF with Larrisa Ione’s Lethal Rider (although the rape occurs in previous book towards the end if I remember correctly ). I somehow trudged through this one only because Rydstrom was told exactly what was going to happen to him and why. Therefore, I felt somewhat better. Where as in the other book, almost same scenario he begged her to stop she didn’t. I couldn’t read more for him to fall in love with her later.

That takes me to my moral dilemma with this book and the other. How can a guy fall in love with a woman after being violated? What are we telling women today? If you are raped, hope that you will fall in love with the culprit because his greater purpose was for you to have his child. REALLY?
I don’t get how women could write this. Obviously, these women have never been violated before otherwise they wouldn’t write such stupid stuff.
Still, after the horrible first half, I love that Rystrom turned the tables on her which somehow made it better. Still, I can’t give this book anymore stars. It’s just wrong on too many levels.
Audio Review
Robert Petkoff continues to do a bang up job. I love his narration.
