One choice can transform you—or it can destroy you. But every choice has consequences, and as unrest surges in the factions all around her, Tris Prior must continue trying to save those she loves—and herself—while grappling with haunting questions of grief and forgiveness, identity and loyalty, politics and love.

Tris's initiation day should have been marked by celebration and victory with her chosen faction; instead, the day ended with unspeakable horrors. War now looms as conflict between the factions and their ideologies grows. And in times of war, sides must be chosen, secrets will emerge, and choices will become even more irrevocable—and even more powerful. Transformed by her own decisions but also by haunting grief and guilt, radical new discoveries, and shifting relationships, Tris must fully embrace her Divergence, even if she does not know what she may lose by doing so.

New York Times bestselling author Veronica Roth's much-anticipated second book of the dystopian Divergent series is another intoxicating thrill ride of a story, rich with hallmark twists, heartbreaks, romance, and powerful insights about human nature.

My Review

I had high expectations for this book. And it delivered! When an author can affect your mood by their writing, then they have done something right. It wasn’t all happy happy joy joy in this story, but it was what was expected for this plot line to unfold.

Tris’s journey in this book is a roller coaster. Even though I wanted to smack her a few times, I had to remind myself Tris is a sixteen year old girl and all her decision rash or otherwise will not always be right in my mind. If they were, this wouldn’t be a realistic or well written story.

Tobias isn’t faultless either in the book and we will be properly scandalized by others in this book. Because I want you readers to enjoy this story as much as I did, I won’t say much more. I will say as questions are answered and others developed. Never did I expect that ending. Some of it maybe, all of it no.

Veronica Roth is an amazing writer. And I will follow her to the writing moon. I can’t wait until the next book. I’ve become more of a fan. If you haven’t read, please do. Read Divergent first.

My book boyfriend Four/Tobias.
