Whiskey Dreams ~ Ranae Rose

This is a m/m historical fiction romance novel (Rated NC-17)

4 out of 5 stars

Book Summary

The war that won the country its independence also lost many of the men who fought to achieve it, including Brom’s lover. Years later, he still feels as if he left half of himself on the battlefield. When a new schoolmaster comes to Sleepy Hollow, a spark and a whiskey-flavored kiss ignite feelings he thought were long dead. But in order to be with John, he’ll have to let the past be the past, or risk letting it destroy his opportunity to start over. And even then, loving another man is a dangerous endeavor.

My Review

This story was short but it was what I needed at the time. A friend recommended this one when she found it for free, yes, FREE, on Amazon. So I snatched it up. When I had a moment and I didn’t have time to read a long book, I eagerly dived into this one.

The writing was pretty solid for such a short read. Sometimes when it’s free, the stories aren’t so great but I was pleasantly surprised.

My torched character pulled on my heartstrings, I wanted to be there and stroke his hair and take away all the bad things. Lucky, this guy was tough. There was a bit of story line that leads you to wonder what will happen next.

My school teacher was what can I say without giving much away. Well, let me just say, he was what I hoped for.

Overall, I liked this one and I’m looking forward to the next.

My book boyfriend is Brom.

  1. Thank you very much for sharing your thoughts on Whiskey Dreams. I'm glad you enjoyed it.

I often take brief quotes from book blogger reviews and place them in the 'editorial reviews' section on my books' product pages on sites such as Amazon and All Romance. May I have your permission to use a small excerpt from your review (one sentence or less) for that purpose, crediting you & your blog?

Either way, I appreciate your review.
