Book Blurb

Alexia Tarabotti, the Lady Woolsey, awakens in the wee hours of the mid-afternoon to find her husband, who should be decently asleep like any normal werewolf, yelling at the top of his lungs. Then he disappears - leaving her to deal with a regiment of supernatural soldiers encamped on her doorstep, a plethora of exorcised ghosts, and an angry Queen Victoria.

But Alexia is armed with her trusty parasol, the latest fashions, and an arsenal of biting civility. Even when her investigations take her to Scotland, the backwater of ugly waistcoats, she is prepared: upending werewolf pack dynamics as only the soulless can.

She might even find time to track down her wayward husband, if she feels like it

MY REVIEW

So, I don’t forget, I have to write this review because I’m already halfway through the next book.

I did so enjoy this book. The dialogue is witty with the side characters and their antics and how Alexia approaches people with her soulless self. I love Lord Akeldama (his dialogue is the best) and his complete opposite Madame Lefoux was an interesting addition to the cast.

Connell wasn’t in this book as much as some would have hoped, but I found that the balance between the story being told and his appearance to be balanced. And I loved him to the end. And I’ll leave it at that.

We get some of our questions answered. But I wish to learn more about her father and therefore her power. The ending is a complete cliffhanger. YOU WILL NEED THE NEXT BOOK RIGHT AWAY. Do not read unless you enjoy cliffhangers without the next book on hand.

Audio Review
Emily Gray continues to do a bang up job. See my review on Souless to get more information about this narrator.

Overall, bang up job. Moving along with the next book and satisfied with Connell for the moment.

However, my book boyfriend is Tunstell. (Poor guy had a run for his money in this book)
