Book Summary

Can love survive when life gets Reckless?

When the band hits it big, Kiera and Kellan must ask themselves: Can their love for each other survive the constant pressures of superstardom? The friendships they've formed, the new family they've found, and the history they've forged will all play a part in helping them navigate the turbulent waters of the band's exploding popularity. A greedy executive hell-bent on success, a declining pop star looking for an edge, and a media circus that twists lies into truths are just some of the obstacles the lovers will have to overcome if they are going to remain together. Fame comes with a price-but will it cost Kiera and Kellan everything?

My Review
Why didn’t I love this book as much as everyone else? Hmm, good question. I think partly due to the audio version, partly because I thought it was way too long, and partly because of Kiera.
This may get a tiny bit spoilery so I can explain.
First Kiera. Although I could understand her reasons for wanting to remain out of the spotlight, I thought that was a bit naive of her and selfish. When it was clearly bothering Kellen, she didn’t seem to care. It was all about her. And in the end, it came out anyway. DUH. So, I thought that was a bit unrealistic or a character flaw. *weights hands out to the side* Not sure which but it bugged me. I think they should have come clean sooner. It was like a lot of the “story conflict” was based on this point.
Then, there were so many unnecessary parts. Clearly if they fixed above, a lot could have been cut out and focus placed on other things.
And honestly, it still bugs me about Denny. HE’s such a great guy and is it unrealistic that he would come to accept things. Maybe, but it showed what a wonderful guy he was.
Then, Siena, really. Really, after everything, Kiera has sympathy for her.
I guess overall, it was a little too feel good and less realistic. I must admit it was nice that everything tied up in a bow, but I was left missing something. Not sure what it was. I thought the most real parts were with Griffin.
Audio Review
Revekkah Ross did an okay job. I really loved her accents for Denny and his girl. However, I think that part of the reason I found this book loonnnngggg was due to the narration. It wasn’t horrible, but it wasn’t in my top ten.
Anyway, my book boyfriend Kellen.
