My Review

What can I say about this series? The first thing is that I stopped listening after a bit because the cliffhanger in the last book didn’t deliver the drama that I expected. So, I stopped. And really at the end of the day, I probably wasn’t in the mood to read YA (young adult) at the time. This is because when I started listening again, I was laughing and found it immensely entertaining.

Sydney is still pretty dull. And because of her been dull and not with the program, we the readers know stuff she doesn’t. Thankfully, it didn’t get on my nerves but I could see where it could have. But at the same time, her dim wittiness, my makes for some funny moments. Adrian is a hoot as always. You have to love him there is just no way around it.

The plot was fairly predictable and maybe because the only one out of the loop was Sydney. So it might be by design. Still, I enjoyed it and look forward to the next one.

So, do I recommend. Yes. For those lovers of VA, just know that this is so far different from that series as you can get. Still, if you go in with that knowledge, you’ll be able to enjoy this one for what it is.

Audio Review

Read by Emily Shaffer who did the latter half of the Vampire Academy (VA) series. She does an excellent job using the same voices from VA for the characters making it easy to follow. I really do enjoy her narration and will listen to her again.
