Her only chance is to seek a piece of her mother’s past that will win her freedom and the life she desperately wants.

My Review

First I have to praise this cover. It’s sooo darn pretty. Now, I’ve read a Nancy Straight novel before and it was awesome. So I didn’t have to take a leap of faith to read this. And again, I wasn’t disappointed.

The characters are well developed. Camille is a feisty girl who isn’t going to conform just because she’s told to. As for the guys, and please note, not all the guys mentioned here want Camille. First up is Chris and I must say, it was love at first read for me. I know I hate insta love, but there you have it. Then there is Drake, and yes, he is wonderful. But Gage, I think I really liked him as well. What was more interesting was that none of the guys were classic bad boys. Yes, you can clap, Nancy found a way to make guys sexy without being rude. One thing, I really did wish we had more time with Daniel. I have a feeling though that we will learn more soon.

The plot, forbidden fruit taste that much sweeter. Or maybe the power hunger will go to great lengths to get what they want. Many themes run through this story, but you must read it for yourself to learn more. I love discovering a book for myself, especially a rose like this. Only one thing, for the most part I predicted all the twist in the story except the ending. And well, that was for the best. I had ideas, but I was focused on other things in the story.

Overall, a quality read and one you won’t feel bad about paying for after your read.

My book boyfriend, Drake.
