Killer Frost (Mythos Academy #6) by Jennifer Estep

Killer Frost (Mythos Academy #6) by Jennifer Estep
This is a young adult paranormal fantasy novel (Rated PG-13)
(Four Selfless Hearts)
Book Summary
I’ve battled the Reapers of Chaos before–and survived. But this time I have a Bad, Bad Feeling it’s going to be a fight to the death … most likely mine.

Yeah, I’ve got my psychometry magic, my talking sword, Vic–and even the most dangerous Spartan on campus at my side, in Logan freaking Quinn, but I’m no match for Loki, the evil Norse god of chaos. I may be Nike’s Champion, but at heart, I’m still just Gwen Frost, that weird Gypsy girl everyone at school loves to gossip about.

Then someone I love is put in more danger than ever before, and something inside me snaps. This time, Loki and his Reapers are going down for good … or I am.
My Review

Call me shocked. I had no idea this was the last book. I just don’t have the time to follow my favorite authors. And when their books are spaced out a half a year or more, I tend to lose track. I also don’t read book blurbs unless it’s a new author or series and I’m curious if I want to read. I like being surprised and too often, the blurb is a summary of the book leaving nothing for the imagination.
While I’ve read this series from the beginning, this book had a distinctive middle grade feel which was a bit disappointing. However, I was engaged nonetheless. I guess I hoped for a bit more considering…
What really amazed me more was the message. I love acts of selflessness. And this story had it. I also thought it was a plus that even though there wasn’t a true epilogue, one was incorporated somewhat in the final chapter. I won’t say more and give anything away.
Audio Review
Tara Sands continues to do an excellent job with narration.
Overall, I really enjoyed this series and was thrilled they finally brought it to audio because it wasn’t initially.
