Book Summary

Drew Evans is a winner. Handsome and arrogant, he makes multimillion dollar business deals and seduces New York’s most beautiful women with just a smile. He has loyal friends and an indulgent family. So why has he been shuttered in his apartment for seven days, miserable and depressed?

He’ll tell you he has the flu.

But we all know that’s not really true.

Katherine Brooks is brilliant, beautiful and ambitious. She refuses to let anything - or anyone - derail her path to success. When Kate is hired as the new associate at Drew’s father’s investment banking firm, every aspect of the dashing playboy’s life is thrown into a tailspin. The professional competition she brings is unnerving, his attraction to her is distracting, his failure to entice her into his bed is exasperating.

Then, just when Drew is on the cusp of having everything he wants, his overblown confidence threatens to ruin it all. Will he be able untangle his feelings of lust and tenderness, frustration and fulfillment? Will he rise to the most important challenge of his life?

Can Drew Evans win at love?

Tangled is not your mother’s romance novel. It is an outrageous, passionate, witty narrative about a man who knows a lot about women…just not as much as he thinks he knows. As he tells his story, Drew learns the one thing he never wanted in life, is the only thing he can’t live without.

My Review

Let me just say that I began this book not wanting to like it. I’d been burn one to many times by recommendations. Specifically Wallbanger and Seduction & Snacks. So despite everyone telling me this one was far better, I was reluctant to read. I kept skipping over it not wanting to be disappointed. However, I got to a point where I needed a book to read and I wasn’t sure what to read. Having this rec, I decided to give it a try.
I must say that I was more than surprised when this rec paid off. I can’t say that this book had me laughing all the way through. But I can say that there were funny parts that had me laughing out loud. It wasn’t forced humor like Seduction and Snacks. It wasn’t cheeky humor like Wallbanger. The humor was natural to the story and a part of the character’s personality rather than the author’s touches.
It was very well written from beginning to end, very refreshing. I loved the way the author decided to tell story. It was told from a realistic guy’s POV as if he was personally telling the reader the story.
I would totally recommend this book. Remember; don’t read because you want to laugh all the way through. Read because it’s a well written romance that will warm your heart and give you laughs along the way.

Audio Review
Sebastian York does an amazing job with narration. He knows how to deliver a line. He also did the girl parts without sounding stupid.
My book boyfriend is Drew.
